Book Description: Hvassast explores the beauty of the Icelandic everyday through a collection of eternal moments, non-erupting mountains, indecipherable weather and groundhog days. Made-up realities are the photographer’s playground, the photograph being not an answer, but a proposal. This is an attempt to show the unremembered stillness of a place, its textures, poetic reality and the fragmented dreams of the people who inhabit it. The Icelandic words found in the book describe weather in the nuanced vocabulary reserved for this loved topic. Sometimes it is easier to talk about the weather than feelings. Sometimes these conversations are the same.
