Masterclass: The Self Publishing Revolution at The Photographer’s Gallery

London

19 March 2016

Bruno Ceschel, founder of Self Publish, Be Happy, and author of the homonymous book just released by Aperture Foundation, leads this one-day intensive, examining the revolution of photobook self-publishing in the current publishing and cultural landscape. Also included is an introductory lecture on Saturday evening.

The course will provide insight into: editing and sequencing; design; printing; and selling self published work.

Ceschel will consider how self-publishing has shaped both form and distribution of contemporary photobooks, presenting key studies of publications like The Afronauts by Cristina de Middel, Nude by Ran Hang and The LBM Dispatches by Alec Soth and Brad Zelar.

The course will provide an opportunity for photographers, scholars and collectors to acquire a broad understanding of the contemporary publishing world.

Please note: This is a course designed to inform those interested in self publishing. We regret that one-to-one feedback on projects or book dummies will not be possible.
