Book Description: Adrift presents a series of found and repurposed photographs from an intact photo album collected by Ben Alper in 2011. With Alper’s reorganization, precise cropping and digital manipulation, the images, all taken on a single vacation on the Royal Princess Cruise Ship in 1991, create a cryptic narrative that documents the intimate, yet unknowable relationship of its two protagonists. Ultimately, there is no beginning and no end, leaving viewers with a cold and ambiguous understanding of an experience never intended for the outside world to see.
